FWIW, when we ran the no huddle/Air Raid under Mumme it was with one of the top QBs in the country with Tim Couch and a serviceable defense at best. Set a ton of records, but inevitably ended up giving us a max of 7 wins and an Outback Bowl which we lost to Penn State. In the span he was there and ran it we went 5-6, 7-6 (Outback Bowl), 6-6 (Music City Bowl), then 2-9 (to be fair on this one, we got hit with NCAA violations and when the writing was on the wall it got ugly on the field too).

As said, the reality is that defense is what wins in this conference. Dooley and Co. may run no huddle but they also generally have a pretty decent defense to accompany it.
