... Good job making like a 2A High School program and selling out to Field Turf.

Now the 2 worst programs in the SEC are the only 2 programs without natural grass. I suppose there's some kind of poetic justice in that.

Your surmise is more accurate than you may have realized. Moving to field turf allows Vanderbilt to bid to once again host Tennessee's high school football championships, something they lost out to Murfreesboro (and later, Cookeville) when they replaced their godawful AstroTurf with natural grass in 1999. Since the championship games for both Division II and all 6 Division I classifications are played in the same venue over a 3 day period, a natural grass field really isn't suitable.
