We have a better chance than Florida does.
Not sure what you're telling me that I don't already expect, but whatever makes you feel better about the state of your football team right now.

It was not until I read your post that I realized you had not been discussing Carolina, but instead meant South Carolina.

And what offense will Florida have to compete? Do y'all even have a QB yet?

Because the SEC rant is crawling with Tarhole fans.

Look at the bright side, the last time SC squared off against both of his teams the elephant and the goat's were running with their respective tails between their legs.

Easier ways to say you are a bandwagon fan than this.

Please. I don't see us losing by more than 17. as others have said, probably about a TD spread in favor of USCe.
We beat you by 17 last year while our drunk QB threw 4 INTs. Don't look for Shaw to follow suit. Our D-line will be stronger this year with Clowney and Quarles being non-freshman. Our defense might take a step back due to some injuries but overall it will be nasty again and could finish top 10 in the country.

Our defense will similarly probably fall off a bit this year but we are no slouches; our rush D and secondary will be more than competent. I don't think we can stop Lattimore, per se, but we know you guys are trying to run, run and run some more.
Hopefully we will get some offensive production. We should have a legitimate dual threat offense. What killed us last year is we didn't put the damn ball in the end zone.

Vandy is going to upset some people this year and that may include Auburn as well. I'm gonna go with the smart kids in a season opener shocker - latti isn't ready yet and connor has a disaster of an opener again (It was last year that he started the season for the gamecocks, right? and garcia came in like 2nd half for the rescue?)

Did you miss the part where Garcia had a disaster of a game vs Vandy last year (4 INTs) but we still won by 17? Again our D held them to less than 100 yards, Vandy will get more than that this time around but I can't imagine Vandy improving in such a way that would lead to a 'Dore win.

That's some obvious trolling. I don't really care how much love we get. You keep winning and the pundits fall in line. Vandy is getting hype. We will know Thursday if it is warranted.

It's the same thing...Carolina IS South Carolina. North Carolina is just a former part of South Carolina that was cast off a long, long time ago. South Carolina WAS Carolina before North Carolina even existed as a state.
In fact for that matter, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi once called themselves Carolina too, as they were a part of our great state, which was at the time a province. All those lands as well as North Carolina separated from the original land designation and called themselves something else. The State of South Carolina is what's left of the Province of Carolina.
We ARE the original Carolina, not North Carolina, and will forever remain as such. You will have to live with that....

Just watched ESPNu and they didn't show you much love. I think they picked you to finish 8-4. They did give you the win over us Thursday, which I had a problem with. Did that rub you guys the wrong way, those of you that watched it?
No... I agreed that we will beat you guys Thursday.

Also, how do you see our game shaping up?
I "see" it (in my crystal balls) being a huge blowout.
Lattimore wants to prove to the world that he is not only healthy, but now bionic (=better) and will not be stopped in his pursuit of total world domination. He will have 150 yards on one carry (he's going to go 50 yards to the goal line, turn around... wait for your guys to catch up... run back to the line of scrimmage, pick up your DT and tote him, like a baby, the fifty yards back for the TD, it will be legendary...). He will then sit for the remainder of the game... on your bench with your coaches' "hot" wives, daring you to make him move.
Spurrier, witnessing this feat of awesomeness, will miraculously devolve into Darth Visor of old and start having Shaw throw it all over the stadium in a show of air superiority. Every player on the team will have six receptions (even the ones who stayed home in Columbia), with the exception of Lattimore who still won't leave your bench (he'll only catch four passes there).
Defensively... it's not pretty for you guys. Tired of sacking your ever diminishing QB depth, Clowney starts playing safety, to give you guys some time to get a play off. He proceeds to have three pick sixes on consecutive plays and you just start punting on first down. After the his fourth blocked punt, you completely give up and develop a completely new formation called the "Super I". It consists of nine players lined up vertically behind the left tack and no one behind the center. The center snaps the ball back as far as he can while everyone else runs for the sideline. It's super effective.
The final score will be so embarrassingly one sided that it will not even be mentioned on ESPN other than "Vandy lost..." followed by a guffaw off camera.
How'd I do?

8-4 could happen, but I don't see it in all honesty. Also, I think we take care of business on Thursday night. The game will probably be close for the first half, but we will pull away in the second. As another poster stated, 31-14 or something along those lines sounds right.

ESPN and its Crystal Ball, what a joke!
