From that blogger:

In three seasons at your institution, the coaching staff has so miserably failed in this department that three men are dead, four men are going to prison and uncounted others have lost the opportunity to make a better life for themselves and their families.

The guy at the airport was right.

Damn, that's harsh.

That's a bit over the top. There is only so much a coach can do. Obviously discipline is a concern in any program, but the coaching staff can't monitor their players 24/7.

I can't take anyone seriously that uses "men-children" in their writing.

One of the major frick-ups of the NCAA was the abolition of the various sports dorms several years ago. Sure, the interwebz was nonexistent back then and there was less trouble out there ( ), but the coaches at least had an idea of where their players were and had some measure of control.

The sports dorms issue should be revisited pronto, IMO.
