They definitely took a step back on defense the last two years.

Texas is probably a better (the best really) example of this. If all you looked at was the recruiting rankings from the last 15 years, you would guess that they won at least 2 or 3 NCs. Program strength has a lot more to do with player evaluation and development than what some dipshit at Rivals thinks.
