Auburn fielded some good teams in the early 2000s, but the only real recent success ('10) is diminished because most people think it was a "one-man-show" and not a good representation of what kind of program Auburn has. Take away that one golden season and it looks like Auburn is on a serious backslide.
Had Auburn been able to put together a 10 win season on either side of that championship team, then maybe people would think differently. Or maybe even if people thought you guys could pull 10 out this year.
Its all about consistency, and it looks like Auburn consistently puts together 7-9 win teams, which just doesn't cut it.
