Mizzou and Kentucky were BOTH saddled with probation and ineligible for the NCAA tournament in 1991. I don't think Mizzou making its run two years later is any different under the circumstances than Kentucky doing so in '92.

I mean hell, Travis Ford, the backup point guard on the 1992 "Unforgettables" team, transferred TO Kentucky FROM Missouri TO GET AWAY FROM THE NCAA SANCTIONS AT MIZZOU. He thought Kentucky was a BETTER situation sanctions and scholarship restriction wise.

(As an aside, Mizzou in 1992 was a 5 seed in the same East Region bracket where the Unforgettables were a 2 seed, bowing to Seton Hall in the second round before the Hall ultimately fell to Duke in Philly which set up the Laettner Miracle game.)
