I know what you mean.
My mom was in the hospital last week and my wife and I would go visit after work. Waiting on the elevators we would look out over McFarland and 15th and man it was weird being able to look out and basically see no houses, trees, and hardly any businesses.

It's amazing to think about how many trees use to be in that area, compared to what is there now.
