Wow. A gay Auburn fan flaming State. Color me shocked...
Are you generating this argument so you won't feel so bad losing this year.

Yes. They are top 50.
Now a new question, how far has Auburn fallen from grace in the landscape of college football in the past year?

Historically? MSU isn't close to being Top 50 historically.

Currently or historically?
Currently they are a top 50 college football program on a somewhat regular basis now.
Historically, naw.

Realistically as a program, we're somewhere between #25 and #40. From recruiting, to rankings, to attendance, to money. Probably #30ish right now, with little ability to move much higher than #25 or so as a program without longterm sustained success and multiple stadium expansions.
#31 in '11
#15 in '10
#45 in '09
#32 attendance 2011
#37 attendance 2010
#36 attendance 2009, nation's greatest increase
After the stadium expansion that's already breaking ground, we will be ~ top 25 in attendance.
The Bulldog Club brought in $37.6 mil last year in private donations, which best I can tell put us 3rd in the SEC.

No. If we're counting the current 120+ FCS teams.

I flipped through the division 1 teams and I had MSU sitting at 45.

They are right around 35 presently. Historically I have no idea. One of you said around 100 based on wins. I'm not sure the number of wins is the best measure. Dan Mullen has the program generally going in the right direction. The problem is the rest of the West excluding OM is loaded with talent.
