People give Bama an awful lot of flack for their bogus titles (and rightfully so) but other schools are just as guilty of this practice as they are and seem to go by unscathed.

We keep saying this, but no one listens. Just take a gander at the title claims by Notre Dame and Michigan.

And OSU. Alabama shares the 1961 title with OSU (off the FWAA poll), even though 'Bama won the AP/UPI that year. But then again, UA claimed the 1941 title off the Houlgate poll, sooooooo...

With that being said, if it wasn't for that 1941 title, no one would be giving 'Bama shite for its titles.

Hell, Michigan only has two AP titles. The rest of their 11 claims are from the same selectors that 'Bama cites for the four pre-AP titles.

You can rake many of the major programs over the coals for their title claims. That said, I honestly wish we would drop the 1941 claim. No need for it and it brings the others down.

The fact they try to claim 64 when they lost a regular season game when both Bama and Arkansas had undefeated regular seasons is laughable.
