Nico and Manti won't both go in the first. One will, not the other
Why not? It's actually pretty common for more than 1 middle linebacker to go in round one..just last year kuchley and hightower both went in the first round. Nico is a versatile player, he can play the middle in either scheme
Milliner is a lock for the first round if you ask me and could sneak into the top ten when it's all said and done. For one, he is good at what he does. Second, his height/weight are the prototype. Third, he is going to blow scouts away at the combine. His vert will be among the best and he will run a low 4.4 high 4.3

Tony Connor will be a tough pull for sure. Typical Mississippi prospect that can not get a ride to campus.

I think coach knows time spent on ms prospects can quickly become a waste. They are tough to recruit and have trouble qualifying.

MS was easier to recruit when Shula was here.

I know everyone points fingers at certain schools for being dirty, but when it comes to in-state MS kids, Ole Miss will get dirtier than anyone to keep them at home.
I still don't understand the mindset of the HS coaches there though. They know they have a lot of talented kids that can play in college, how are they so consistently dropping the ball on getting them qualified? And I don't mean changing grades, I mean legitimate help starting in the 9th or 10th grade. Same thing happens in LA, but not to the same extent.
I do tend to feel like the talent level in MS is down though if LSU, Bama, and Auburn aren't heavily recruiting the state.

The talent level is waaaay down in recent years. MS used to churn out top flight players. I don't think they have won, or even been close to winning the AL-MS all star game in like a decade

Shula actually did a relatively good job recruiting MS. I think his blueprint was to recruit Alabama, Florida, and MS. Our development of those players was obviously lacking, but he got some good names. It is just not a good overall use of resources unless your being shutout in GA and LA.

The difference in quality of Mississippi High School football compared to Alabama is night and day. And I am not just talking about recruits, most Alabama 3A programs have more fan support and are better coached teams than some of the biggest Mississippi schools. For instance I saw a better game with Geraldine vs Fyffe in Alabama than I did Columbus vs I forgot who. And none of those kids are going to college to play ball.

I think Mississippi high school football can be defined by just simply looking at QB development. When is the last time the state of Mississippi produced a quality SEC starting QB?

Don't even really want him anymore, especially if the Grayson 5 comes with him.

id take him, as long as it was just him. he would find out pretty quick at alabama that nobody is bigger than the program. there is a huge amount of internal pressure among the players to buy in and do what is best for the team, which is one of the reasons we are so successful.

Yes, if he goes to any big time school im pretty sure he will already know that his friends wont be coming along unless its at a school like Clemson or Ole Miss.
