As an auburn fan im curious, what would have the 2004 4team playoff looked like?

Clearly, SoCal would be the #1 seed, Oklahoma #2, Auburn #3, but who would have got the #4 seed?
Texas finished in the 4th in the BCS(w/ one loss to #2 oklahoma) but Utah & Boise St were undefeated. Cal finished 5th in the BCS (w/ one loss to #1 USC).
Im happy there is a playoff but really wished it was an 8 team playoff. I can still see problems in the future. 2003/04 season was the "perfect storm" to get he ball rolling on a Playoff. Bama & LSU finished it off.
And for the record, I think Cal should have been the 4th seed. I would have liked to see that USC/cal rematch from that year. But many would have used that as to why they shouldn't be the 4th seed because they already lost to USC. But if you Texas (who was shutout by Oklahoma) many would have objected. Imagine if Texas beat USC and Oklahoma beat auburn and it was a Texas-Oklahoma rematch national championship. And if it was Utah or Boise state people would have lost it that a non-BCS conf team made it over a one loss BCS conf school.
But if it was an 8 team playoff we would have seen them seeded like this maybe- #1usc, #2 Oklahoma, #3 Auburn, #4 Cal, #5 Texas, #6 Utah, #7 Boise st. And #8......... Oh wait.... Who would have been the 8th seed in the playoff? A two loss (bcs#7)Georgia who didn't even win the sec east? A two loss Va tech?(#10bcs) louisville team with one loss? (BCS#11) LSU w/ 2 losses? Bcs#13 Michigan w/ 2 losses?
My point is, I'm excited about a playoff but still see many problems ahead. At least we got something though, right?
Sorry if sloppy, wrote this on late lunch break on my phone. Please discuss.....or not.

knowing what we know now, USCw would have been not have been eligible for a 2004 playoff.

USC would have destroyed LSU in '03, Auburn in '04, and LSU again in '07. I hate the Trojans but they left at least 2 more BCS Titles on the table when they were cheating their way through the 2000's.
