Coach Martin was in Austin Nichols' school today checking in with what I would now term the Vols' top target. I would say it's safe to say that Hubbs' commitment has helped the Vols there, as many of you have speculated. I would still expect Nichols to take the remainder of his visits, but don't look for the Vols to fade anytime soon.

Everything leads to Nichols being a Vol.

Cuonzo is the freaking man.

re: 2013 Tennessee Basketball Recruiting Thread

Hubbs is one of the best players in the 2013 class. A huge commitment for Tennessee. His stock is a bit lower than it should be since he didn't play in the Nike EYBL games, but he is an impressive player. Could be SEC Freshman of the Year unless Kentucky gets Randle.

I think Nichols is primarily looking at Duke, Tenn, and Mizzou.

I think Randle is clearly the best player in the class. What are your thoughts on Hubbs v. the Harrisons?

I'm really excited to see what Martin does with the program, i thought we'd never rover after losing Pearl.. All of Knoxville loved that guy, we used to see him every where! Hopefully Martin can have the same effect

Have speculated on this being the case previously, but hearing a little more definitively today that Austin Nichols will likely make an announcement the week after he visits Knoxville on Oct. 20. If that's the case think it probably bodes well for Tennessee.

Austin Nichols was tweeting at Robert Hubbs tonight asking if he'd be at UT when Nichols visited.

Hubbs said he can't come back till he signs (recruiting violation) but Nichols tweeted back : "@a_nichols33: @datkiddRobert dangggg.. We finna turn up thoooo!!"

Sounds like two future teammates ready to do big things in orange. CCM has me all kinds of hype for UT BBall

stolen directly from fl98, via Volnation.

That's a solid tweet. AN is vfl.

I'm told that there is no news coming out of the visit which is good news for Tennessee. Like we've said for a couple of weeks now, we expect him to make an announcement pretty quickly after he visits Knoxville with his family on Oct. 20. Hearing that he may do a nationally televised announcement with ESPNU like the Harrison twins did last week.

Nichols is all Vol, it's been obvious for a while now.

3 five stars in two seasons, not bad for Coach Cuonzo.

He's nabbed every 5 star player out of West TN since he's been the coach. You know it's driving Tiger high fans crazy.

Nothing new, Easterwood on Gary Parrish show yesterday pretty much said most people you talk to think Nichols is a Volunteer. Though he wouldn't come out directly and say it.

You can tell it's breaking his heart.
