Plan your year around your respective schools sports schedule?
I'm talking vacations, weddings, business trips, conception of another life, etc.?
Yeah, its the offseason, so these stupid threads pop up. I just want to make a point to one of my wife's friends that a lot more people do this than just me.

I'll be in Jamaica smokin spliffs during OM week...for the 3rd year in a row.

Absolutely around football season.
When my daughter was engaged (which never came to fruition) the proposed wedding date was to be in the fall and was planned around open dates.
BTW, in the SEC this is as much the women as the men.

A buddy of mine is having his wedding on September 1, and said he would probably be kissing the bride around 7.
To top it off it is in Senatobia, MS, a 4+ hour drive for myself. Anybody know anything about this place?

I'm a little ashamed to say it, but yeah, I plan pretty much everything around Razorback sports.

I print out the SEC schedule every year to plan ahead. Most people I know wouldn't think of scheduling a Fall wedding. Good way to annoy friends. I usually go to 3-4 Bama games and Thursday nights and Saturday are reserved for college football. Tailgating includes watching other games. Hey, remind her we only get so many games per year. Gotta make the most of the season.

Unless I'm going to watch the game at the stadium, before I plan a trip, I make sure there will be a place for me to watch the game before I commit.
Also, my dumbass friend got married last year on the Auburn-Florida game. I streamed it though my iPhone, ran the earpiece up the back of my dress, and the earbuds were hidden by my hair. All of my friends were waiting for me to scream out "shite" or "frick" during bad plays; apparently I made some funny faces during the prayer

Football is more important than anything. If my presence is mandatory, I'll have earphones in.

When we were planning our wedding my fiance suggested September 15th. I said "Nope, we play Alabama that day. If we plan a wedding that day, I won't be attending."

I've skipped out on weddings before because of that.

My ex-wife and I were married Nov 4, 2000. Yes, the LSU-Bama game that LSU won at TS against the Tide for the first time since 1969. Ex wife thought it was ridiculous to plan a wedding around football season which is probably why we aren't married anymore. Didn't go over well with my dad. He brought me an article from the Advocate that was basically a call to arms to be at TS for the game by Nick Saban. The writer wrote "Oustide of your daughter's wedding, you have no excuse to not be at TS, because your son would understand." My dad had highlighted that part ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

I planned my marriage and my divorce to be in June as to not interfere with AU football.

I planned our wedding around football season. Had it the weekend after SEC championship game. Used the LSU/OleMiss game tailgate party as one of our engagement parties.

We got married in the fall (October) because I finished my Master's in August and we didn't want to wait.
BUT-
We had to make it work around 3 football schedules. My husband and I went to Alabama, he grew up in Auburn, and I grew up in Tallahassee.
We had to find a weekend where Alabama, Auburn, and FSU were either not playing or had shitty away games. We got lucky.
My children will not get married in the fall.
I have spent more than one time as a bridesmaid with a freaking walkman and headphones hidden.
And, yes, I said walkman. I'm 40 - we didn't have iPhones and ESPN3 and streaming shite when all my friend were getting married 16-18 years ago, you young whippersnappers.
Nowadays if someone is inconsiderate enough to plan a wedding during a big game, we just send an expensive gift and don't attend the wedding. The bride and groom don't even notice if old people they had to invite for their parents are there.
