Well...If you get caught in a California school, but you have a license to use, do you still get punished?
That is a great point. I had considered a similar scenario, speaking of TM7. Was synthetic marijuana even illegal when TM7 was caught? I assume it probably was in LA but I still don't think it is across the country. Can the players in those states use it but not the players in the states where it is illegal? Does the NCAA have a committee of professionals with medical and law enforcement backgrounds updating their banned substances list weekly? What is their policy if Bama's O-line wants to take bath salts before games? haha. It's just so arbitrary it is ridiculous. Draw the line at performance enhancing drugs and be done with it, leave the rest to the conferences and/or schools, I say.

The stuff wasn't against any state or fedeal laws when TM7 and company got suspended. Like the question about marujuana use for players in cali, it doesn't matter if it's "legal" or not, synthetic and real marijuana were/are prohibited by the NCAA, which is why TM7, Ware, and Simon were suspended. It's BS but when you think about it there are a lot of NCAA rules that you can break without committing a legal crime
