what I never understood is does a game not became a "rivalry" once you don't play every year anymore?

If Tennessee is as big of a rivalry as Bama fans make it out to be, wouldn't it make the game that much bigger if they played it every other year or every four years, etc?

The biggest surprise to me out of this whole thing is just how big of a deal Tennessee is to Bama fans...I am a huge college football fan and I knew Bama and UTk were rivals but national perception is Bama-Auburn (I mean hell ESPN just did the whole 30 for 30 on it)

My point is I guarantee you most of the college football world thinks of Auburn and Bama way before Auburn and UTk

if the choice of ole miss and Florida came up, I guarantee you everyone here would cry that ole miss is our bitter rival. And it's probably more so the ten/Bama. But we don't have that option
