An idea from Orange Bloods (Texas fan site)

quote:

. For some time guys like Cosell and others (myself included) have mentioned that Florida is not exactly thrilled with a conference comprised of habitual cheats and academic frauds such as Bama, LSU, Auburn to name a few. Well, let's just say that Florida is not out of the question in the future. Now imagine for a minute that you had FSU & Miami along with Florida in the Big 12 locking the SEC out of Florida altogether..

10. Well Florida isn't the only one in the SEC that isn't exact thrilled with the "unique" practices of the SEC. What if I told you that Georgia isn't out of the question in the future as well? With the addition of GT & UGA, you will have locked the SEC out of Georgia altogether

If you add FSU, Clemson to the Big 12 then you are at parity with the SEC. If you add Miami & Georgia Tech to the Big 12, from a historical standpoint the Big 12 becomes a "who's who of College Football". Add ND to the equation and then you have changed the finances and television viewership of College Football forever. Add Florida & Georgia and then you change College Athletics forever. Either play nice or we take our programs that own the major TV markets and play with other nice programs that own their major TV markets and we lock out the programs that don't want to play nice altogether. TV Ratings is a ***** aint it?!

This is consistent with what every Texas fan tells themselves to ease the pain of being an inferior program in an inferior conference.

A part of me wants to laugh, but another part of me genuinely feels bad for this guy. It's gotta be a tough life trying to survive when you're that stupid.

We should all know by now that joining a conference with Texas is pretty much asking to be their bitch.

The funniest thing about all this is that most UT fans probably believe that Florida and UGA should feel privileged that UT want them in the BIG XII and that it would be a significant upgrade from the SEC.

I'm sure Florida and UGA fans would love having to travel half way across the country to go to every away game (outside of each other of course)

This is why I can't really buy the Clemson/FSU to Big 12 talk. Texas and WVU (no offense to the bunch of quality WVU posters here) think everyone wants to join their island of lost toys.

Not to mention, isn't half that conference ex-SWC schools, which to my knowledge was the dirtiest conference to have ever graced the earth? Hell, didn't Baylor try to cover up the murder of one of their own students a while back?

In other words, if you added six nationally prominent programs to the Big XII and subtracted two from the SEC, the Big Xii would achieve parity with the SEC . . . . I guess that's about right.
