Because historically Bama and UT were the best two teams in the conference, border states, and have played since the beginning of time.

AU was still some Polytechnic institute, and besides that, there were FORTY YEARS where Bama and AU didn't even play each other.

They owned Bama when I was growing up & getting into CFB, the coach that built that run was nearly the death of us, and even though Bama has beaten them 5 times in a row now I still think they deserve more.
