Do you not understand that everyone, on message boards and on TV, expected Auburn to be just middle of the pack? In 2009, we were only predicted to win around 6 games. In 2010, we were predicted to win maybe 8 games. In 2011, we were expected to win 4-5 games. Do you see a trend? Auburn always exceeds expectations.

Malzahn's offense worked great in 2009 without Cam Newton. Besides, like I've asked before, did we need either of them to be successful in every other year not named 2009, 2010, and 2011?

No, they don't. The depth and talent is very close. Alabama and LSU have just have much better defensive coaching over the past 4 years for sure. Enter BVG for Auburn, and here comes some more great defense.
