For everyone who missed it:
Alright, we all know that recruiting is the biggest difference maker in CFB, but how many wins difference does a good coach make during the course of a season.
Let's take Derek Dooley, since I am familiar with him, and Nick Saban. If you switched these two coaches, how would the records of the teams change.
Predictions for the up coming season:
Tennessee w/ Dooley: 7-5
Alabama w/ Saban: 11-1
Predictions if these coaches switched for the upcoming season:
Tennesse w/ Saban: 8-4
Alabama w/ Dooley: 10-2
Recruiting aside, since we are just talking about one season, how much difference would this make? Could Dooley win a championship at Bama this year? Could Saban win the East with Tennessee this year?

So Saban is only one game better than Dooley?

I think Saban's best attribute as a coach is his meticulous attention to detail in preparing his team to play. Both mentally and physically, Bama comes ready to play. He is not a great gameday playcaller, but that is not what he needs to do. So you can't just give him the team on gameday and expect him to work miracles.
