I don't know what to think about Les Miles. Someone said enigma--I agree with that. He is the most unpredictable coach out there. Establishes reputation as the "mad hatter" prior to 2011, but goes virtually completely conventional in 2011.

I don't get him. I think 2012 will tell us more about him than any of the prior years, though.

Laying an egg in the BCSNCG didn't help my perception. But I can't help but like the guy--and he's always been gracious in victory and defeat. Something to be said for that.

Good manager of others who define the success of the team. Would I want him running my offensive play calls? frick no. But would I trust him to put together a staff to field a successful program? Yes

I don't get him most of the time either, but like previous posters have said, his record pretty much speaks for itself.

He seems to be as hard-headed as they come sometimes offensively, but he also seems to realize that he needs great defensive minds on the other side of the ball, and he's done that very well overall.

He's a very good recruiter with a very rich talent base to chose from, I don't see that changing anytime soon. He's also a players coach that can make those guys run through walls for him, another very good asset.

So yeah, I'm still confused as hell about his coaching abilities
