If Mississippi had one major conference program it would probably be very good. Just doesn't seem like there's enough resources and people to go around for 2 SEC programs plus a solid non AQ program like Southern Miss

I would have to agree with this. Don't think it would ever be possible to make Ole Miss and MSU fans combine though. Too much animosity between us.

If Mississippi had one major university it would be exactly like LSU is to Louisiana. Back in the 90's Ole Miss and State were consistently good and going to bowls every year. I think we can be like that again but we've got to find two good coaches (like Tubberville and Sherril). State has Mullen and if Freeze works out then I think you will see the state of Mississippi produce consistent winners in the future.
Frick Southern Miss BTW. I hope they never win another game in any sport. I wish their football program would get the "death penalty." I hate USM more than any other university.
