With Big10-Pac12 Going with playing each other permanently do you think it would be a good idea for the SEC to do the same?

Originally I figured it would be best to play the ACC but then it would be perm opponents and that doesn't sound as fun.(Because of Clem/GT/Fl St rivals) Which is still doable if they are willing to sacrifice another occ game to play each other outside the deal on years they don't draw each other.

The other option is the Big-12 which I could see being actually being the best one to play imo.

Thoughts?

-Yes I know its prob been discussed before but its the off-season and idgaf-

I believe it's OOC, not OCC.

Won't happen. Alabama and Auburn don't want to have permanent OOC opponents that may actually be good. Florida and GA have games with FSU and GATech respectively so they won't want anything like that.

If it was with anyone other than the ACC it would put UF, UGA, and SC at a serious disadvantage. Because we would have to schedule FSU, GT, and CU regardless, plus a permanent OOC from somewhere else. Those teams would be giving up another OOC game somewhere, so instead of getting a few cupcakes like everyone else would be able to do, we'd get 1 less.

I don't like it.

Doesn't UGA still schedule 1 other decent opponent every year besides GT?

if the ACC is able to hang on to FSU/Miami/etc I would think they would be a good conference to partner up with in a deal similar to what the Big10 and Pac12 are doing.

Virginia Tech would be a great permanent OOC for Tennessee.

UF - FSU
UGA - Ga Tech
USC - Clemson
Tenn - Va Tech
Vandy - Wake Forest
Kentucky - Duke
Auburn - UNC
Bama - Maryland
MSU - NCSU
Ole Miss - UVA
Mizzou - Pitt
A & M - Syracuse
LSU - Miami
Arkansas - Boston College

C-USA is the obviously best option. We got dibs on Tulane!

Do not want tough OOC games. Did it for 20 years, to no apparent benefit of MSU...

I think VaTech might be a better match for A&M since they are the only two SMCs in FBS.

The West should set something up with the Big 12.

That would be interesting. Set the east up with ACC set the west up with big 12.

I'd rather do 10 year deals than permanent games, sort of like what we had with PSU not too long ago. That'll build a nice rivalry sort of thing but then when it's over you can pick someone else to change it up.

Ironic that Aggies think its great to not have the uta rivalry anymore.

I usually enjoyed watching that game.

UGA/GaTech, UF/FSU and SCar/Clemson can remain intact, the others can maybe sign a deal with B12 for a 'Shwodown Saturday' type deal. The bottom ranked SEC team would just have to do without unless B12 picks up a couple of more teams.
