Well, for corporate donors, there's more value in an SEC affiliation than Big 12. More games on TV, more excitement, more interest in the programs. And Missouri companies want their University to do well - after all, they recruit employees from Mizzou, as well as it just being a matter of pride. I expect corporate donations to increase pretty substantially.

And for individuals, there's something for them to be proud of now. For years, Mizzou football sucked. Now we've had some success, and people tend to back a winner. Especially when their school is joining the best conference in college sports. Just my opinion though.

And you're right - accounting practices are different and the comparisons aren't necessarily equal. We have the 4th largest endowment in the SEC, I think? Just different pots of money from school to school. TSF annual giving is different than fundraising for specific projects.
