My statement can not be disputed. Big10 has two titles since '69.

What if they make a playoff and the SEC still wins every year (highly likely), will people outside the southeast ever give up on watching college football because they have no chance?

It'll build anticipation to see who could eventually dethrone the SEC.
Just like how the NFC won like 15 straight Super Bowls. Someone will eventually beat an SEC team for a NC

Gump math!
Your 44 years in question if we are talking about the Big Ten and it's future you can't discount the entire membership, please note the current members of the big ten have won the title 9 times in the period in question feel free to include your recent additions national titles for a fair comparison

Every time I call up Stassen this pops up. Hired a computer kid to keep it on autofreeze.

Confused ? Are you asking how, set the period parameters, if so hit the blue arrow to change the data input
ETA in the last 44 years Nebraska was the best college football program with the best winning percentage and titles in 1970, 1971, 1994, 1995, and 1997

That's the whole point of autofreeze. Prior post of mine was poor attempt at humor, apologies, carry on.

44 years is the wrong period to claim Bama dominance even if they win 3 titles in 4 years as Big Red did the Tide winning percentage in that time span will not eclipse Nebraska provided the Cornhuskers do not go 0-12

The Tide had excellent coaches before Bryant (Thomas and Wade come to mind) and after but his run from 61 - 81 (13 conference championships and 6 #1 awards) is the definition of a dynasty. This 'dynasty' talk of late is for the cheerio crowd, imo.

There is a current confrence dynasty but I doubt we will see another run like Bryant's where one squad lapped the feild both nationally and regionally

Mizzou, listening to Pinkel, I'm not so sure.

"Ramirez said Missouri has a great coaching staff and he has a lot of friends on the team. But as much as he loves the school, he’s not sure he would have committed if it weren’t for the move to the nation’s most prestigious football conference."
“'The main thing the coaching staff said to me is that the true big dogs go to the SEC,' Clay said. 'I like that a lot.'"
Seems like many posters aren't bothering to learn anything about Mizzou or look at what the staff's been saying before posting their assumptions.
Compare Mizzou's ad campaign with several billboards in the Southeast, the "rise to the level of competition" commercial that's been playing, including during the SEC basketball tournament, and rebranding for the SEC move with this billboard A&M plans to put up:

I never stated anything about the future of the Big10 or the new programs. I quoted and replied to this post

conferences like the Big Ten who have traditionally been very good in football but have flat out mailed it in.
Was merely pointing out that the BIG10 has only won two titles in over forty years, therefore casting doubt on the belief that the BIG10 is a strong conference traditionally.
Hopefully this clears up your spin problem, if you are in need of further clarification I will be more than happy to assist.

quote:I don't think they are equal though. I give Florida the edge over Texas as far as producing the best CF recruits, but Texas isn't far behind. USC just pulled two Rivals 4 Star recruits from the Sunshine State. Any good CF program can prepare a top notch CF athlete for the NFL, but USC is in that media fishbowl. It's almost like having your own marketing company. Play well at USC and you will be all over ESPN, and they know it. Being in Los Angeles also offers one or two extracurricular activities not present in Gainesville (although Austin does have a few charms of its own.)
all things being equal it will probably still be at least as easy to succeed at Florida and Texas as it is at USC

Well, yeah, if you are in to that sort of thing, but kids these days are more concerned with academics and finishing school rather than extracurricular activities.

as opposed to the relationship between Texas and ESPN?

Our VP of marketing said we are waiting until we join the SEC officially July 1st or maybe a little before to launch our advertising campaign because we still have teams like baseball competing for BigXII championships and to start building hype closer to the start of the season instead of months before.
For now, we have that one billboard near college station that replaced an ad regarding our national title in women's basketball so that we could keep the billboard. Have no fear Mizzou fans, the A&M marketing machine will be in full force soon enough.
