Exactly 1/2 (16 of 32) are from states having at least one school in the SEC. If you add Virginia and North Carolina (states traditionally considered southern but with no SEC schools to date--we're working on it) it would be 19 of 32.

The amount of in-state talent in Tennessee is waaaay undervalued on this and other boards. There's not enough to win a CFB NC, but we produce first round draft picks literally every year. Most of them underrated coming out of highschool by Rivals/Scout/ESPN.
I did some analysis a few weeks back and found that over the past four years, Tennessee has had the same number of Rivals 250 players as South Carolina. Though if you ask anyone on this board to compare SC to TN in terms of football talent, you'd almost, unanimously, see something like this.
SC>>>>>>>>>TN

I would have to think that having Spring football in high school along with the importance of football over other sports have a lot to do with this map. I cannot say I am surprised by this map in any way.

I hope they do a map like this per round and then a final total map. Probably look about the same.

So TN has the same amount of Rivals 250 players as SC but with around 2,000,000 more people?
by the way, what does it say about the current state of UT football if the in-state talent isn't nearly as bad as believed?

Virgina is an obtuse triangle, kids from the southwest are in Knoxville's backyard, the kids from metro DC are almost as close to Penn State in driving time as Philadelphia

Go over the old drawbridge in Satartia, take first right on gravel road. There will be a shop to your right, drive behind it and park behind and between the two huge oak trees, be facing the river. Has to be at 2 or 3 in the morning.
Look for red and blue strobe lights in the bushes... shadowy forms... weird sounds... wind gusts...temperature rising and falling drastically.
You can also sit on the bridge and look to the north.. the spot on the river behind the shop always has a mist over it and it's a rare moment to see this, but once in a blue moon you'll notice the water turn yellow and can hear the sounds of hell. I've also heard sounds of the drawbridge pulling up when it never moved.

meh. put together Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee, roughly the size of Texas, and you've got a whole passelful of first rounders.

thats crazy i've never heard of that. me and my grandpa always used to go to the gas station right by the bridge and they actually still attend church right there off of whatever road 433 turns into. i'll have to ask my mom about it since she grew up down there and see what she has to say about it.

Yea it's on old river road across the bridge. There is a link on the first page in this thread if you want to read the write up about the place... some old farmer back in the 50's was jug fishing and the water around him starting boiling yellow and he heard screams and moans and smelled rotten flesh.
Apparently back in the Civil War the Union soldiers tried to take the land from a tribe of indians that lived there on the river... Indians drowned themselves b/c they would have rather died on their land than give it up.
Reading the link may sound like bullshite but I've been there and seen some creepy shite so it's legit for the most part. Definitely something weird there. You have to go a few times, because like any haunted place you aren't guaranteed to see something every time.

Yeah sorry, Texas isn't a really kickass, prosperous, wealthy state like Mississippi or Alabama. Who would want us? :(
