Holy crap. If this turns out to be true, Arky is way more financially set than I thought when it comes to athletics, and they are going to throw a monkey wrench into any coaching contracts that are coming up.
You would be shocked at the money here, it makes me sick/jealous sometimes. The challenge, all of those donors with big $$$ are very, very demanding. Some of them, I simply downright hate. (I am a lifelong resident of Benton County, Bentonville is the county seat).

Despite the Arky jokes, there is alot of money in Arky for a state no one thinks of as being wealthy., Not just Walton money, either which is gigantic as anyone would imagine.
They can bank roll a game changing hire with pocket change.

Damn. I mean, I wasn't implying there's not a ton of money. I figured there was. But when you make a guy the highest paid coach in the country, you're sending a pretty clear message to everyone else. And it also can sometimes ruffle the feathers of other admins that suddenly now have to start restructuring what they are going to offer their coaches. Universities like Bama can get away with it because it's expected. This is going to be interesting.
