The little roundhouse next to Gorgas library was one of a handful of structures on the UA campus that survived the little spat between the States. The story goes that two UA students, who were cadets, tricked some Union soldiers into approaching there with the promise of whiskey. They were shot, and their ghost can be seen looking for the promised whiskey...

Oh, and virgins can be found on the UA campus. Lawlzers.

Well, I go to North Alabama. There, we're all sidewalk Bama fans.

There are a series of tunnels under LSU. There are a lot of threads on the OT about this and if you go there have an LSU friend show them to you.

It is rumored that if you ever step on the 1900 class on Senior Walk you will never graduate from the University of Arkansas because all the members of that class died unnatural deaths. They actually died naturally.

ETA: I've never walked on it, I need all the help I can get

I think it is fascinating that the remnants of the foundation of the old library that was burned sits at the base of the stairs in front of Gorgas.

Apparently there is a time capsule buried in that area.

There are meth labs in all the buildings at Mizzou. It's not a really a university at all, just a massive distributing operation.

The Huey P long Field house is one of the most unique buildings on campus. It has a rooftop pool. Well It WAS one of the most unique. We let go to hell and now it's looks like crap.

Here's an interesting fact about the SEC I heard the other day. Only 30 U.S. universities are designated land, sea, and space grant institutions, and with the addition of TAMU, the SEC now has three, the other two being Auburn and LSU.

Spoofer's stone is a large rock that was being hauled by an team of animals to be used in the foundation of Old Main when it fell off the cart. It was too heavy so they just left it there. It later was used as the halfway point between men's and women's dorms where couples would meet at night because fraternization between the sexes was forbidden. People began proposing and chipping off pieces of the stone. I also heard Oklahoma stole it from us once a long time ago??

It wasn't until a few years ago that Auburn got plumbing. Boy that was a pretty big deal when the state dug main sewer lines from Auburn all the way to Tuscaloosa.

The Old Main Dorm was built back in the late 1800s and was once the largest dormatory in the country. It burned to the ground in 1959 and the bricks that were able to be salvaged were used to build the Chapel of Memories.

Also our Animal Industries building. It's just lectures space today, but it used to be where they slaughtered animals (in the basement) on campus. One night a guy slipped and fell on a saw, cutting his artery, and then bled to death trying to get out. To this day, it's supposed to be haunted, and there's a file full of all kinds of supernatural sightings and phenomenons.

Also, there's a hole in the top left corner to the doors of the Lyceum. Not sure if this is true or not but the hole was supposedly caused by a bullet that was shot at James Meredith when he was walking in to enroll at the university.

The "old part" of the SAE house is a bomb shelter for the city of Starkville.

I guess one of the most interesting things about Tennessee's campus is the body farm.

The original building on campus, Old Main, burned down in the 1880s. When it's replacement, later named Samford Hall, was built, they put pockets of sand between all the floors.

The idea was, if another fire started, when it would burn through the ceiling of one floor, the sand would fall down and suffocate the fire.

From what my brother tells me...apparantly if someone hits you in their car while you're walking through a crosswalk, than they have to pay for your tuition for a year.
