In and of itself the "rings" are not a fair measuring stick in an all time equation.
In all fairness a coach at an Alabama, Ohio State, USC does have an advantage over a coach at out of the way west Texas & Boise or East Lansing Michigan. The location combined with his results does not put Mike Leach ahead of Chris Petersen in my formula let alone Nick Saban

depends on who you're measuring. Measuring saban at bama/lsu with spurrier at florida is fair. Im not comparing Saban with those coaches using national titles. im comparing him with spurrier at florida.
