It's one of my biggest pet peeves. I've done it a handful of times while driving on the interstate and i shouldn't be texting to begin with.

Unless you can text without looking, which most should be able to do after some time with the same phone.
I've had every iPhone since 2007 and can text without ever looking at the screen.

This makes far more sense.
If it's iMessage, which it is because of the blue bubbles, I don't understand why he didn't just erase everything. Can the erased messages be retrieved?
