Dude, tell me about the Netherlands. Applying for a few jobs there with sporting good companies.

Target 1 -- Chris Petersen- not coming
2. Charlie Strong- meh
3. Art Briles- great candidate
4. Garrick McGee - I think you can do better than this, no HC experience
5. Mark Mangino (for lulz)- lawl
6. Jim Tressel - show clause, you'll take over the same sanctions OSU has
NFL coaches are a shitty idea unless they have major ties to college ball and know recruiting. Jim Caldwell is one of the worst in game football coaches I've ever observed as well. Leavitt might be a good option
7. NFL AC #1 (Perry Fewell)
8. NFL AC #2 (Bill Musgrave or Winston Moss)
9. David Cutcliffe
10. NFL AC#3 (Jim Caldwell or Jim Leavitt)
Also consider- Paul Rhoads, Pat Fitzgerald, David Shaw, Mullen, James Franklin amongst others.
Give calls to- Chip Kelly, Mike Gundy, Gary Patterson, knowing full well all 3 will likely turn you down.

Art Briles is an intriguing name. The guy has long and extensive ties to Texas high school football. In fact, he coached Texas high school football for around 20 years; he has only been in the college ranks for around 10 years. He could definitely get Arkansas some recruits from Texas, which is a place Arkansas needs to mine talent.
Now, Briles has never left the state of Texas...all of his roughly 30 years of coaching jobs have been entirely within the state of Texas. Supposedly, he does not want to leave the state of Texas. However, he might be persuaded to do so for a chance to coach in the SEC in a neighboring state.
There is no doubt he is a good coach. He has won at two places where it is difficult to win: Houston and Baylor. Moreover, each of those two places was in a mess when he arrived. I think he would be a great choice. Would he leave? I don't know.
Another choice that you Hogs will not want to entertain but nevertheless may be a name that gets mentioned: Sonny Dykes. Yes, what if Arkansas does a Tennessee and hires LA Tech's coach on the fly in a difficult situation?
Dykes took over a tough job at LA Tech from Derek Dooley. People seem to forget or not realize that when Tennessee hired Dooley he had just put the finishing touches on a 4-8 season. Dykes had an up and down 5-7 first year but followed it up with a 8-4 2011, won LA Tech's first WAC Championship, and took his team to the Poinsettia Bowl where they gave TCU all they could handle before falling 31-24. He is known as an offensive guy that likes to throw it a lot and use a lot of players. He has done a good job of recruiting by finding guys that fly under the radar. He is not the big name Arkansas fans would want but he still could be a possibility.

Briles would definitely leave I think. He has incredible relationships built up with Texas HS coaches and in the 7 on 7 circuit as well. He's landed some good recruits at Baylor, where it is close to impossible to do so. Only question mark would be his offensive system but I think he can tailor that to the SEC style.

It's not like Arkansas is on the moon, it is right by Texas. Briles would take that job and if I was the Arkansas AD, he would be priority #1 and I would get him signed.

Its hard to judge a Briles defense based on Baylor talent, but the defenses Baylor has had under him made ours look top notch.

If Long is smart he waits out the season and hires Dana Holgorsen. Use the season as an audition.

Kodi Burns and Ziemba? Can't think of another Aubie starter from Arkansas in the last 20 years.
We lost Z because Gus left for Tulsa. So yes, he played a huge role in him not being a hog.
