Keeping him would probably benefit other teams this season. He could be having the distraction of a divorce and dealing with settling possessions going into the season.

I agree. Not to mention the Gameday signs and the signs that fans of other teams will be holding in all of the stadiums that they play in.

Why would the money dry up if you got rid of this scumbag? You would think people would support the program regardless.

You would think but I posted this in another thread. He has brought in a shite load of money to our program in the last 4 years.

I might have been talking about it for two weeks now, but Greg Doyel at CBSSports.com summed it up this simply: the value of the Arkansas football program has increased more than any other in the land since Petrino walked on campus (59 percent), and is now worth $89M.

Well Ozzie's on the front page of ESPN. BP isn't anywhere to be found on the front page side bar.

I'm kind of surprised about the lack of national coverage this story is getting. Imagine if it had happened to a premier program....

Is ESPN deciding BP's fate by not delving further into the story?

They influenced the combatants for the BCS Championship. Why not keep the most hated coach in the top drawing conference?

He's the Iron Sheik of the SEC. Got to keep him around.

Bobby's job is secure. He'll be forced to show public contrition, if he's capable to doing so. He give a public appology and life will go the frick on in Arky football.

haha I would like some real numbers on that. Seems highly speculative.

It looks as if Petrino is in for a Long day...

If the Arky BOT and administration are reflected by the Petrino toadies on this board, it's not out of the realm of possibilities they give him a raise and a contract extension.

Its based off a Forbes article from a couple of weeks ago. There was a thread on here about it at the time too. Started by an Arkansas fan of course.

If they keep him long term Arky is screwed. He will be eaten alive on the recruiting trail, Ark is going to pay a ton of cash for settlement issues. Also giving petrino the green light to do whatever he wants as a coach and to know his job is safe is almost a horrible Idea.

That said Ark boosters are very pleased with him due to what he's done at Ark the last few years. me personally I'd want him run out on a rail but

Yes. After the scare this has given us all of losing Bobby, we should take precautions to go ahead and lock him up for a few more years, and additionally...remove that silly clause from his contract about moral fiber and bull shite.

the value of the program has increased dramatically it's obvious to anyone who pays a little bit of attention. stadium expansions, new complexes, ticket raises in prices and still selling more tickets than we ever did under nutt more consistently, the south west classic with a and m, etc.
