Anthony Grant announced that he had suspended Tony Mitchell for the remainder of the season

So what the heck happened here? Is Tony Mitchell gone for good? How is Grant viewed in Tuscaloosa?

Mitchell done for the year. No word about next year even though he is a junior. Mitchell had a prima donna attitude but there has to be more to the story that is presently unknown to the public. Mitchell suspended for "conduct detrimental to the team" based on an "accumulation of things." No one knows for sure why Green, Releford and Steele were suspended.

Grant is presently viewed as a disciplinarian who is in charge of his program like a new "sheriff" taking over a rogue program left behind by CMG.

There will be few repercussions if he gets this team into the tournament, and his team certainly responded with a huge win over Tennessee. Team is 2-2 without Mitchell, beating TN and AU and losing to LSU (4 suspensions) and FL.

It that were true he wouldn't be having to suspend guys in year 3 of his stint at Alabama. Usually coaches send that kind of message in year 1. He is having problems because he wa.sn't stern enough in the beginning. And 3 of the 4 guys he has suspended where players that never played 1 second for CMG. How is he cleaning up a "rogue program" by suspending guys he brought into it? I also thought Alabama was "confortably in" according to the TD basketball experts. Looks like that was BS as well.
