I grew up an Auburn fan. Got an athletic scholarship to play at a small school. Went to Alabama for grad school and attended almost every home Alabama game. I never once even had a thought of changing my allegiance from Auburn to Alabama. By that time it just wasn't even a consideration.

Just the opposite for me.....I grew up a Miami fan when UM football sucked. I played JC baseball for 2 years and Skip offered me a full ride to Miami for my last 2 years. I also got a full ride to LSU. I couldn't care less about Miami now even after they became an elite college football program.....and I hate them even more in baseball. I bleed purple and geauxld now.

I was raised a diehard Bama fan, and I still am one.

However, I am currently attending Auburn. I wanted to choose the best school for my desired degree (software engineering), and I wasnt going to let football dictate the quality of my degree.

On a side note, I occasionally sit in the student section wearing my Bama gear to non-Bama games. Thats always a lot of fun.

I think being young and being in a college atmosphere can change your allegiance. I've seen it happen, it's just usually not Alabama and auburn fans
