I never understand this. I was a diehard Bama fan LONG before college was on the radar. I just can't imagine switching jerseys and trying to be a "fan" of some new program. Being a Bama fan is ingrained in me...my double helix is Crimson and White.

This. I grew up a die hard UK fan because both my parents are die hard UK fans, even though they both went and and graduated from Louisville. I just couldn't even fathom switching allegiances if I hadn't gone to UK.

My bro grew up going to State games with me and my dad. He attended them with me while he was in high school. He ended up at ole miss for five years. Is he supposed to live in their dorms, hang in the grove, be surrounded by ole miss people, mingle with their players, get drunk on their square, get student tickets to their games, and remain a state fan? That would be fricking awful. Then after he got his degree from there, donate to MSU? Hell no. That would make college way less fun.
