Is Arkansas becoming the Clemson of the SEC?

I'm not sold on Petrino being able to lead Arkansas to a western division crown. He doesn't seem to have the chest to lead Arkansas to it's ultimate goal of beating Alabama and LSU and winning the SEC West. He can certainly put butts in the seats with a high powered offense made of guys that most schools didn't really want, but the defense seems to come up short.

Last year the defense was supposed to turn the corner but it was the same old song. He's never going to be able to recruit bigtime players on defense and I look for the it to continue to be middle of the pack or worse in the SEC West.

11-2 is an awesome record for a school like Arkansas and I'm not sure they can do any better than that. What do yall think?

ETA: this is not meant as a flame, just want everyone's opinion on the ceiling of Arkansas.

Next year is always "the year" for Arkansas. Come on man, we've been over this.

If our ultimate goal was beating Alabama and LSU, then we're half way there. That's not much of an ultimate goal.

Arkansas actually had a better team in 2010 so if they have already peaked, it happened two years ago not last year.

Does not compute

The answer is no. We were without Knile Davis and our defensive depth was decimated early.

Nope....

He finally got the talent on campus. Now he is building the depth. Give him 3 or so more years after this upcoming season and if Arkansas still hasn't won the SEC west or SEC then I'd say we won't anytime soon.

Of course they did. If the Aggie defense could cover one receiver, Arkansas would have stumbled right out of the gate.

I haven't read the thread so I'm sure this has been posted, but that was the worst fricking flame attempt I have ever read on this board in my whole life.
