not reading 4 pages of driving directions but do this:
1. take 167N at Alex to Little Rock
2. In LR take I-40W to Ft. Smith (after crossing the Ouachita River bridge in LR, get in the inside lane).
3. take I-540N at Alma to Fayetteville.
don't take the route thru S'port, Texarkana, Mena...you'll thank me later.

Simple...over the mountains and thru the woods.

Last time I checked the Ouachita didn't flow through LR.
