And you've yet to address the fact, if he didn't recruit an extra player and one or two had reneged, he'd been left shorthanded in the recruiting class.

No matter if their evaluations were better by the staff? Would they not be remiss in their duties to shun better talent when it's available to them? Their duty lies in their employer, not a high school kid.
