I agree with you, Cheshire. Good analysis.
I think the big difference Arkansas' story and Mizzou's story is Pinkel. He's Mizzou's man at the moment and likely forseeable future. Unlike Arkansas, we aren't going into the SEC with a new coach.
For all the shite Pinkel gets for his DWI, fact is that he's a coach who is well liked by his players and his staff is trusted by high school coaches.
I think it would be a mistake to abandon Texas. I don't think he will do that. Sure, we wants to test the Alabaman, Georgian, and Floridian waters, but he still can recruit in Texas. High school coaches trust his staff and know that their 3 and 4 star players will do well at Missouri. Pinkel's staff is known for coaching up players...taking 3 star recruits and arguable turning them into 4 and 5 star players.
Hopefully our transistion goes better than Arkansas' transistion years ago.

Jaquan Richmond is not commited.
Right, just thought it was worth mentioning. He's been on our radar and wants to be a Tiger. Don't believe I ever said he was committed. "Future Tiger" was his words, not mine. He's a 2013 LB so I would GUESS he is a back up plan if we don't land some of these other local LB's? Either way hope he has a big year and we see him in Columbia. Never can have too many good LB's, especially going into the SEC.

I was just clearing things up so everyone knew he wasn't commited.

Oh okay yeah I can see how it could have been confusing.
Also, sorry if this was already posted but here is what Clay Rhodes had to say about his 2nd visit to Mizzou. LINK
quote:
"I'm making a second visit to Mizzou tomorrow! My parents and I are going to check out the business school, watch practice and, time permitting, hit Shakespeare's Pizza before heading home.
I love the feel at Mizzou. The coaches are great and they seem to really care about me as a person. The players are awesome and have gone out of their way to make me feel welcome in Columbia. I can definitely see myself sticking with the black and gold.
Go Tigers!"
Definitely seems high on the Tigers.

Our main competition should be kU, k state, and Tulsa. I like our chances.

Dont discount KU so soon just yet. Remember they have Charley Weis now and he did a good job of recruiting at ND he just had trouble putting a defense together. They are a sleeper on some of these 3* guys. Also dont know if anyone has seen this but Franklin looks to be out until August or so. Surgery on his throwing shoulder. Sounds like he will be fine but its gonna take some time to heal.

kU may get some of these 3* guys but recruiting to ND and recruiting in lowrents are 2 totally different things.

Hosick says he will make a decision in June and will be an early enrollee.

Thanks for posting the Dave Matter article thats good stuff. Looking through the offers I like what I see so far. We have a few 5* offers out there but i like seeing alot of 4* offers. Looking at teams like Bama and LSU and USC, they bring in 10-15 4* and thats where they build there team. Mizzous' staff does such a great job at coaching kids up too which will play well into getting these kids. This class looks promising.

Still have some work to do out of state but were in great shape with the in-state kids.
