Not unless 3 or 4 of the top programs are all saddled with terrible coaches or major sanctions at the same time, and one of the other top programs is hitting on all cylinders (kind of like what Bama is doing right now).

It wouldn't last very long even in that case. Most SEC schools refuse to put up with mediocrity for very long.

I doubt anyone is going to repeat Alabama's run of the 1970s, but I think someone could certainly win back-to-back conference titles again.

I think Tennessee has done an excellent job of dominating the conference. Now, with Coach Summitt on the down slope, it remains to be seen how long it will last.

Saban has been pretty dominant at Alabama. 2 national titles (2009, 2011) and he was 1 quarter away from playing for 3rd (2008). With his recruiting prowess and the backing at Alabama he is going to keep winning at a high level.

Florida was rolling, is that who you're referring to? Things change quickly, Bama (and LSU for that matter) should enjoy the ride and realize it wont be there forever.

Florida definitely dominated the SEC from 2006-2009 so that's a false statement.

I think the oversigning coming to an end really allows this to happen. If you believe that oversigning has an affect, which you should, then you realize its elimination makes the margin for error, much much much smaller. A good coach, a few stellar recruits, a little luck, you can do it for sure.

And my definition of dominated is winning the SEC anywhere from 3 in a row to 4 out of 7. 5 out of 8 being magical.

Possibly.
But, can one conference dominate the NCAA?
I would say yes. The SEC has won 8 of the last 14 national championships, including 7 of the last 9 and 6 in a row.

for how long? lsu dominated the sec in the regular season this year. auburn dominated last year. bama dominated the year before. but, if you are defining dominate as in the past a la bear bryant or general neyland, it's not gonna happen, esp in football. too many programs putting too much money into facilities, recruiting and facilities. cycles are the name of the game. did you not learn that in the years between bryant and saban? except for a few yrs under stallings, a period where bama got caught red handed buying players, y'all were pretty mediocre.
