All flagrant fouls involve excessive and unnecessary contact. They're obviously more likely to injure a player but has nothing to do with intent to injure.
You're a Kentucky fan and I'm an LSU fan. We may both be biased, but I just didn't see intent to injure him.

Then we'll have to respectfully disagree. I played basketball long enough to know there's a big difference in just a hard, frustration foul (which is excessive but at least understandable) and wanting to hurt a player. White's foul yesterday was with the intent to injure. This wasn't just a shove or a smack across the face when going for the ball. This was a full on horse-collar esque tackle and probably one of the worst flagrants I've seen in awhile.
And it certainly doesn't help that the kid apparently has had issues like this before. I don't think it's representative of LSU as a team though. I do think you're wrong it thinking it was just a minor, but excessive foul.
