Its not often that a team gameplans to exploit the "scariest player" on the field...its usually done to stay away from them.

You didn't kick to him. You had your heisman finalist running back stay in to block when he came on blitz. You took advantage of a height difference in coverage when you could isolate. When you ran to his side, Lacy got blown up for a loss on 3rd down runs.

I think the gameplan was to marginalize him by preventing him from blitzing and roming, which Bama did. Again, you'll get no argument from me that as a sophomore he was known for his shutdown coverage.
