Noone is saying that. The residents here are def to blame, ESP the violent crime. My point is said residents aren't committing crime because NOLA allows them to get hammered. These people are uneducated, well below the poverty line etc. You can blame all that on us, but not our drinking laws.

Drunkenness lessens judgement. A shitton of crimes are committed because of drunkenness. If NOLA didn't allow such public drunkenness, it would eliminate alot of the things, like that balldragging and probably alot of altercations as well. Maybe a few violent sexual crimes as well.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't their a huge topic on OT not too many mounths ago about the huge project in the French Quarter right behind Bourbon street which seems to directly fuel the criminal activities that seems to be on the rise in the french quarter?

I know there has been some heated debate on what to do with this project, obviously many NOLA residents would like it bulldozed. but due to the policital nature, such a move will probably never happen.
