If what AU fans want to believe is true actually was, we wouldn't have a bunch of guys like Tyler Love, John Michael Boswell, and Brandon Gibson, who RARELY see the field taking up scholarships. Those are guys who contributed very little on the field, but stayed out of trouble and put forth the effort

You are so full of shite.

Since you are struggling with basic math here, I will help.

A football team playing American Football is comprised of an offense and a defense and special teams. The offense is allowed to have 11 players on the field at a time. The defense is also allowed to have 11 players on the field at a time.

When you add the two together, you get 22. Like this: 11 + 11 = 22.

With me so far? God I hope so...

These 22 players see the majority of the playing time on an American rules football team.

Now, you also have 11 more players on offense and 11 more players on defense that comprise something called the "second team". Not all of these players play very often, but some play more than others. If you add in these players you are up to 44 players. Like this: 11 + 11 + 11 + 11 = 44.

I know you are probably confused now as the numbers are getting bigger, plus please try and stay with me.

Many of these same players (we are at 44 in total) often comprise the special teams as these are your best players and athletes. You throw in a few kickers (the guys that "kick" at the oblong leather thingy from time to time) and you are still under 50.

Since a team is allowed to have 85 scholarship players in NCAA American Football, that means 35 players will "RARELY see the field".

So... Well, nevermind, frick it the big numbers and throwing some basic subtraction into the equation probably just blew your mind and confused the shite out of you.

I'm impressed by your math wizardry, but that has nothing to do with my point.

Why doesn't Saban just cut the untalented slobs instead of the frickups? I mean, those 35 players who, by your numeric magic, will rarely see the field, could be forced into action if there were an injury. A bastard like Saban should be able to forsee this and keep only the best players, right?
