One could make a strong argument for it...

-First undefeated regular season in program's history.
-SEC Champions with blowout of UGA in the dome.
-Defeated BCS and Big East Champions on the road.
-Defeated Pac-12 Champion/Rose Bowl Champion on neutral field
-Blowout win over a top 5 Arkansas.
-Most talented secondary in the country.

I could go on and on... is this consensus among LSU fans?

I think it depends on how you quantify it. If you value each position equally, then I think yes. Otherwise, our 2006 and 2007 teams were better because of the superior quarterback play.

I do think that this was the best Alabama team in their school history.

Regular season yes, but since we didn't finish the deal, no.

Best Ive seen, Im 44. Ended poorly but still a dynamite season. Im not surprised Bama won but I am surprised that Miles just let the ship sink wihtout even trying to bail it out. It was a strange night.

While we're at it, I will say that I think Bama's Defense as a whole is the best D ever in NCAA.

No. The best team in history doesn't lose and get dominated in the title game. They were very good but no.

Yes and no. For the "team" to be able to overcome such a weakness at the qb position as LSU dealt with the entire season and produce the results they did is amazing. From a top to bottom analysis of the whole team, I say yes. On the other hand, it is hard to consider a team the greatest when they are so weak at the primary position on the field. From that standpoint, I would say no. With all that said, I don't think the question can be truly answered.

Yes. LSU has never dominated the schedule like they did, and with below average QB play.

We still had a great season. We won the SEC. It's hard to beat a great team twice.

I am very much looking forward to the next few years now that Jefferson is gone.

its hard to say just because of how awful the QB play was.

The way they blew teams out all year, seemingly not having any "off" games I thought they may be the best LSU team ever, but Im not even positive if this years D is better than '03s and this offense is a tragedy so...i dunno

No, they just played way over their heads until the last game caught up with them.

Yes. This LSU team accomplished more than any other team in school history, possibly BCS history. 8-1 against top 25 teams is unheard of.

We beat the BCS national champion, Orange bowl winner and Rose bowl winner. Has that ever happened?

not close to the truth, first one in decades tho

The best team in school history would always have been a matter of opinion up for debate if they won. I don't think they would have been... but they would have had the most distinguished resume of any LSU team in school history
