Or.....if you want to play in the BCSNCG game dont already lose to the team you will be playing, win your conference or even your division

Be #1 or #2 going into bowl season. If you aren't, then you probably lost a game along the way, weren't high enough preseason, or you play in shitty conference.

+1. If the gumps were 12-1 and won the SEC but their one loss was to a 7-5 Ole Miss, they would be outraged that an 11-1 SC would get a rematch with a 13-0 UCLA in a national championship and they were left out. The gumps are no different than SC but SC has more cache than the gumps.

The problem with this scenario is that it is quite possible that you can play in the BSCCG if these things happen. If you lose to Iowa State at the end of the season, not so much.
