Is a true, bitter rivalry. After watching Roll Tide/War Eagle it really drove home the point that LSU doesn't have a true rivalry, at least not in the recent decades. The amount of hatred between Auburn and Alabama is actually pretty awesome. Gotta be the best rivalry in college sports?

Glad we don't have to protect our oaks from some of these types.

eh its good and bad. Great when it's all fun and games, but when civility gets left out the door (and i mean from both sides) it's terrible, and sadly this is where the rubber meets the road for more than its fair share of auburn and alabama fans.

To me yes, but the media will always say Michigan/Ohio State is the greatest rivalry because it takes up two states.

Wouldn't you think that Bama/LSU is turning into a rivalry? IF both teams continue to be dominate it could get really fun in the coming years.

It blows 364 days a year, but that one Saturday of the year when Alabama whips AU's arse makes it all worth it imho

Outside of Army-Navy, it is.

IMHO

My brother's an LSU grad, lived in bamaland, and thinks the AU - UA rivalry is excellent.

Hats off to them.

It has gotten ridiculous lately due to things like finebaum and message boards. UA and AU fans generally are fairly civil in real life. Unfortunately, the whackos have been made more visible with technology and national shite-stirring shows and that just drives others to act the same.

I do agree with this but I grew up during the years we always played A&M

I think that will develop into a great rivalry but will take some time

Arky ain't it, sorry piggers

I'd consider it the worst.

i'll chime in to say i appreciate not having a true rival. it has allowed me to hate auburn in the 90's and early 00's when we were battling with them for the west. it has allowed me to hate bama recently with our shared success. it has allowed me to hate florida equally. i like not having to put all that hate on one team. i'm sure having an au/ua rivalry is awesome, especially since its instate, but i'm good just hating all of y'all equally....(and by hate, i mean hate on game day, i have a mutual respect for those programs as well).

The Auburn Alabama rivalry was much better pre-internet. The face-to-face trash talking with classmates, friends, family is awesome because it's almost always respectful. With the internet it's gotten way over the top and nasty now.

I hear what you are saying. Does seem to be a kind of cool thing. Just ain't gonna happen for us. Tulane is long gone (and utterly irrelevant) and Ole Miss is not what it used to be (what little it was). We have no natural enemies and neither Arkansas nor aTm is going to provide us with one.

Just keep hating the entire SEC throughout the season. That is all we can do.

That show made me realize that I don't care if we have a real bitter rivalry.

That shite is out of hand.

I have no problem hating every team we play on gameday. Seems like a waste of energy to put that much hate into one team.

Dude,

Take a walk down Bourbon on Jan. 8 and feel the hate; then tell me we don't have a rivalry.

They are special and very fun but can also get VERY dirty. The A&M/Texas rivalry has been over the top with the SEC move. Way too much pettiness to the detriment of both fan bases.

I've always enjoyed the A&M/Texas rivalry because it's not just a football rivalry. It's all sports, academics, jobs, state pride, self worth, EVERYTHING. It's 24/7 365.

Unless you ask a **** arse sipper who pretends we aren't rivals. That's their schtick

For some reason LSU fans just refuse to acknoelege its rivalry with Ole Miss.

I guess we just hate them SO much, that we don't even want them as a rival.

Now THAT'S a rivalry!

LSU used to have a pretty intense rivalry with Ole Miss and Arkansas has picked up the slack in the last few years. Of course, it's not Alabama/Auburn but what rivalry is?
