This is my first post so I want to make it a good one. I am a Tuscaloosa native and Bama Grad and I work as a captain of crewboats in the Louisiana oil field. (LSU was always my 2nd fav team growing up, my cousin is an LSU grad and I have been to 2 Bama /LSU games in Tiger stadium.) I got to watch the 11-5 game with my (all louisiana) crew in morgan city. They were very gracious after the game and said we may meet again in January. I told my first mate I didnt think it would happen, or be fair for LSU to have to beat Bama twice to win and Bama would only have to win once. However, no one could have predicted the following weeks loses by OK, OK St, Stanford Boise and Oregon. But the BCS got it right. I know LSU fans want to crush Ok St for the title, (which they would) but, LSU and Bama are the 2 best teams this year and if the big 12 wouldnt have stood in the way 3 years ago when M. Slive proposed the plus one, Ok St would have gotten their chance to play Bama to prove their place. Most logical observers know that Bama would have beaten Ok St badly and it would still be LSU vs Bama on the 9th. These 2 teams are two of the best I have ever seen in my 40 plus years of watching college football. If LSU wins I will say they are THE best SEC team in the modern era. Bama is the ONLY team that even has a chance to beat them in the Dome. I have seen Bama win 2 NC in the Dome in person, 79 and 92. Its kinda our home away from home, too. I know some LSU fans are saying Bama doesnt deserves to be there, but in truth they know how good this Bama team is and the perfect season is in doubt. If the Opp was Ok St, you guys could have already booked the trip to the white house to meet Obama. I hope its a good clean game, no injuries, bad calls etc. and everyone watching can just appreciate how good these 2 teams really are. It will go down to the wire, again. to another classic!

Please forgive our ADD children. They're used to texts and twitter, so whenever they see more then 120 characters or so, they panic.

To be honest, I'm glad to be facing Bama in a way. Sure I would have rathered another established program going undefeated this year, but seeing as how Bama seems to be really the only worthy team, I say bring em on! LSU/Bama is a great, historic series - I'd say "rivalry" but that tends to freak people out - the more chances for LSU to beat Bama, the better.

Was it fair that undefeated New England faced the NYGiants again in the Super Bowl? How about wild card St. Louis beating Division champ Milwaukee in MLB this October?

I'm not sure what you mean by fair - but show me an instance in sports where it states "after a team beats another in regular season play they can't face them in the post season."

Especially since they're the only one that gets the chance. College football might has well go back to the days when the NC was settled before bowl games. The Mythical NC would be a more appropriate term IMO.

LSU agreed to the rules of the BCS before the season started. There should be no whining or complaining unless it's just sour grapes. It's just the facts.

Nice post captain.

I agree that LSU is having to beat Bama twice in order to prove their greatness. It will all be fine once we do just that on January 9.

Bama beat R Kansas, Penn St and a bunch of losing teams. Most logical observers miss this I guess.
I forgot about Auburn...

Oklahoma St has beaten several good teams, Bama not so much

As an LSU fan, it isn't unfair to LSU. The system is what it is and it worked the way it is supposed to work.
