Saban wasn't the coach he is now until about his fourth year at Michigan State. That's when he started using the structure he used for success at LSU, and now Alabama. You can learn everything a head coach has to offer, but until you're on your own, and implementing your own structure, you can't be fully prepared. I think it's way to early to characterize Dooley, Muschamp, or Fischer.

How do you know this? Did you coach under Saban?
