For 3 straight quarters, absolutely everything went Alabama's way - every fumble, every interception, every call (but one), yet Alabama could only muster ONE legit scoring opportunity without help. The other 4 required an interception (2), or a crucial personal foul call (2) without which Alabama never even attempts but ONE field goal the ENTIRE game. Then, at the very end of the third, LSU gets its first interception and the wheels begin fall off the Saban express. IN ITS LAST THREE POSSESSIONS, ALABAMA HAD A TOTAL OF TWO - !TWO! - PLAYS FOR POSITIVE YARDS. In retrospect, the outcome was never in doubt after the beginning of Q4, exactly like every other LSU game this year.

LSU kicked a FG in the 2nd quarter. That was after they drove the ball to the Bama 2 also. So Bama didn't have everything going for them in the first 3 quarters.

LSU - 2 INTs. 1 FG.
Bama - 2 INTs. 1 FG.

In the 4th quarter Bama drove deep into LSU territory only to have the Maze pass picked off so the wheels weren't falling off.

If the game was never in doubt why was 6-6 at the end of regulation?

You must have been watching a different game than I was.

As I said, they had every fumble, interception and call (but one) go there way. And it was precisely that 'help' that put them in position to kick every one of those 40+ FG tries. LSU had every fumble, interception and call (but one) go against them, yet, as you point out, they drove the ball to the Alabama 2 yard line and equalled Alabama's score through 3 quarters. Why? Because LSU overcame those setbacks by outplaying Alabama .

The entire point is, through 3 quarters, it was:
LSU - 2 INTs
Alabama - 0 INTs

Your coach was so confident in his team's offensive performance that he took the ball out of his QB's hands and let his RB throw the wildcat pass - a pass that is ALWAYS a floater no matter who's RB is throwing - there is a reason the guy is NOT the QB after all - against the fastest defense in the country. For 30 yards. Smells of desperation and frustration to me.

I said in retrospect. The retrospect that showed that Alabama had zero chance of hanging with LSU in OT. As I said, last three possessions - that's 12 plays - and only 2 of them for positive yardage, including ZERO in OT.
